The stability provided by the Swing Bulb Keel is such that one has to climb half way up the mast to effect a knockdown.

At last the mast comes down towards the water!

With a person stood half way up the mast, the righting force is such that it lifts a large part of their body-weight out of the water. When they hop off the mast, it will flip up instantly. The extended keel bulb is visible behind the hull.

Note the waterline in this position. Explorer is designed so that water does not enter the cockpit footwell or cabin hatch in the event of a knockdown.
